Ibrahim A. Al-Gahmi joined Sutin, Thayer & Browne, immediately following his graduation from University of New Mexico School of Law. He primarily focuses on Transactional Law, with matters related to Business and Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Real Estate and Tax Law.

Ibrahim earned his Bachelors of Science, double majoring in Biochemistry and Biology from New Mexico State University in 2020, graduating with honors. Immediately following, he entered his Juris Doctorate program at the University of New Mexico School of Law. During his time in law school, Ibrahim was a tutor for Elements of Legal Argumentation II and was the Citation Editor for the New Mexico Law Review from 2023 – 2024. He received the Frederick M. Hart Award for Excellence in Commercial Law and the CALI Award for Elements of Legal Argumentation I. Ibrahim was on the Dean’s List both semesters of 2022 and 2023 and graduated magna cum laude.

Advises clients on a range of transactional matters, with a focus on business, real estate, public finance, and state tax matters, including:

  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, operating agreements, and corporate governance documents

  • Assisting with mergers, acquisitions, and business restructurings, including due diligence and closing documentation

  • Supporting entity formation and planning for corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies

  • Reviewing and negotiating commercial leases

  • Working on real estate matters related to renewable energy development, including review of title and survey materials

  • Assisting in the structuring and documentation of public finance transactions

  • Assisting clients with cannabis business licensing and regulatory compliance under New Mexico law

  • Supporting clients in responding to New Mexico Department of Taxation and Revenue notices of assessment and protest proceedings

Provides litigation support and has experience with:

  • Drafting pleadings, dispositive and procedural motions, and written discovery

  • Conducting legal research and preparing internal memoranda and client correspondence

  • Assisting with depositions, hearings, and trial preparation

  • Matters involving contract disputes and real property
