She focuses on complex commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and transactions that raise challenging water and environmental issues. In her business law practice, Sarita advises companies from a wide array of sectors, including the banking and financial industry, high-tech companies, restaurants, tribal and Indian-owned enterprises, professional firms, and oil and gas producers. She represents companies in securities matters, primarily related to private offerings. Sarita represents a number of state agencies, local governments and state universities. She also represents both public and private clients in matters concerning economic development incentives, including industrial revenue bonds and Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) grants. In her water and environmental law practice, Sarita represents buyers and sellers of water rights, evaluates environmental due diligence issues, represents water users in stream adjudications, and assists clients with environmental permitting. Sarita also advises in the areas of nonprofit organization and governance. Before joining Sutin, Thayer & Browne, Sarita served as a clerk for Judge Lynn Pickard at the New Mexico Court of Appeals.
