Lawyers Susan G. Chappell (505) 883-3367 SGC@sutinfirm.com Albuquerque Office SUSAN G. CHAPPELL practices in the Firm's litigation department. Her practice area is commercial litigation, with primary emphasis in business entity and shareholder litigation and employment law. Sue also has a strong interest in problem solving and alternatives to litigation. Towards that end, she is using her litigation experience to build toward an emphasis on alternate dispute resolution, including mediation facilitation. In her business litigation practice, Sue represents all forms of close and public business entities and their organizational managers and owners, in disputes arising out of business relationships, including commercial litigation. Her representations vary from advice to directors and officers regarding structural and control questions and fiduciary obligations; to interpreting documents and contract; to bringing and defending simple and complex commercial claims in all for a, including arbitration panels and the courts; and to maintaining and defending shareholder derivative litigation. In her employment practice, Sue represents both large and small employers and employees in the full spectrum of issues related to employment relationships. That representation takes varied forms, ranging from conducting workplace anti-discrimination and anti-harassment training; to assisting employers with drafting and interpreting employment policies and procedures and contracts; to advising employers and employees regarding matters related to discipline, grievance procedures, severance, termination, and the post-employment relationship; to conducting investigations of alleged workplace discrimination or civil rights violations; to responding to and making administrative charges of discrimination; to representing employers and employees in administrative proceedings before administrative bodies; and to litigation in the state and federal courts.
