| MARIA MONTOYA CHAVEZ is a shareholder with the law firm of Sutin
Thayer & Browne, where she has practiced law since 2000. She
received her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from the
University of New Mexico in 1995 and her Juris Doctor from St.
Mary's University School of Law in 1999. She was an editor and
co-founder of the St. Mary's Law Review on Minority Issues from
1998-99. She also served as Vice President of the Student Bar
Association. Ms. Chavez is past Board President of Keshet Dance
Company, a member of the Young Lawyer Association, the Women's Bar
Association, Woman Entrepreneurs, Chair Elect and a Board Member of
the Family Law Section of the State Bar of New Mexico, member of the
International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, member of the
State of New Mexico Collaborative Practice Group and member of the
Albuquerque Collaborative Practice Group and member of the Adoption
and Foster Care Alliance of New Mexico. She practices primarily in
areas of family law such as divorce, collaborative law, child
custody, child support, adoptions (including same sex adoptions),
guardianship and conservatorship matters and estate planning. Ms
