| KATE GIRARD practices in the area of civil litigation,
and currently represents both Plaintiffs and Defendants in
commercial litigation, employment litigation, personal injury
litigation and civil rights litigation. Kate received her J.D. from
the University of New Mexico in 2007, where she received the Faculty
Award for outstanding contribution to the law school community and
the National Association for Clinical Legal Education's Award for
outstanding clinical legal performance. Kate received her M.A. from
the University of New Mexico in Educational Thought &
Socio-Cultural Studies in 2005, and her B.A. from the University of
Michigan in 1994, where she was an NCAA Academic All American and
world-ranked member of the United States National Swimming Team.
Before joining the legal profession, Kate was a teacher and
community organizer, with primary focus on the rights of children
with disabilities and the homeless. Before moving to New Mexico,
Kate served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Armenia.
